X-mas in Baton Rouge!

Luke has been visiting Nana, Bubba, Gigi, Pe-Paw, Pe-Pam, aunts, uncles and cousins this week. Although he's been with us for only half a year, Luke is a super, duper good boy and Santa was very generous. See below for some highlights.

Trip to Mansfield

Luke took a day trip to Mansfield earlier this month to visit Bubba's clan. He had a lot of fun visiting with the family and looks forward to next time!

Road Trip

While Paul finished writing his dissertation, Luke and I took a road trip to Baton Rouge for the LSU/Ole Miss game. He really enjoyed the trip! Most of the time he was either napping or happily looking out the window. He's such a good boy! In Baton Rouge, we had an early Thanksgiving at P-Pa and P-Pam's and Luke got to experience his first LSU tailgate! Luke had a blast meeting new family and friends in Shreveport, Alexandria and Baton Rouge. We had a great time and we can't wait to do it again!

Luke's 1st Week of Day Care

This has been a traumatic week. Luke started daycare and Emily got some kid germs that required her to get an IV. Yikes! Nonetheless, it's Saturday and all is well. Geaux Tigers! I apologize to all of Luke's fans for the lack of posts recently, I promise to update more often. Love, P, E and Luke.

Luke Meets Abigail

Luke's Baptism

Although heavily recruited by Buddha and Shiva, Luke ultimately went with Catholicism and recently made it official with a fancy ceremony. Lunch at Rathburn's Blue Plate Kitchen was awesome! And the after party at Uncle Dan's was off-the-hook (did I use that phase correctly?). See below for highlights:

Lunch

Visit with P-Paw and P-Pam

P-Paw and P-Pam came into town for Luke's baptism. We meet at Coal Vines for dinner on Friday night. Luke woke up during dinner to flirt with the girls at the table next to us. He must have been very persuasive because they offered to babysit (seriously, one girl gave us her phone number). So in summary, if you need a date, hang out with Luke.

Luke and Dad Assemble Jungle Jumparoo

So, Em decided that Luke needed a Jungle Jumparoo. Sounded like a good idea to me. 45 minutes later, Luke hated it. I fondly refer to the Jungle Junparoo as the Terrordome. Although he's no longer terrified of the Terrordome, Luke remains wary of the danger it obviously poses.

Luke Meets the Cates

Luke and Em had a blast hanging out with the Cates in Granbury.

Mmmmm Hands

Luke has discovered his hands over the last week or two and now tries to put his whole hand in his mouth. It's about the cutest thing ever, but he hasn't figured out it makes him gag!!!

Hanging Out in Our New Osh Kosh B'gosh Overalls

Thanks P-Pa and P-Pam!

Two Month Check-up

All went well at Luke's most recent check-up. He's packing on the pounds and growing like a weed. He got another round of shots... and Emily only cried a little bit this time. :)

Labor Day Weekend at Chris and Lisa's

Some highlights from Labor Day weekend:

Nana feeds Luke Prunes

Luke has been having some stomach issues, so Dr. Nana took care of the problem with a little bit of prunes. Mmmm... good. Well, it turns out that Luke loves prunes and he seemed to feel a lot better afterward. Thanks Nana!

Paul's Clone

So we've been asked: Who does Luke look like more, Paul or Emily? Well, I think we have our answer...
From Paul Childhood Pictures

See below for a sneak peak of Luke's future...

For comparison, pictures of Emily will be published soon...

Dallas Tornado

As you may have heard, a tornado touched down yesterday in Dallas... about 2.5mi from our apartment. Emily strapped Luke into his car seat and they both took cover in the bathtub. After it had passed, she snapped these pictures of the remnants.

Name Change

So Emily and I are thinking of changing Luke's name:
  1. Poopinstein
  2. Baron von Poophausen
  3. Harry Poopini
  4. Count Doodie

Luke's Blog

Hello World!

The purpose of this blog is to serve as an information hub for all things Luke, especially for those who eschew Facebook (or don't know what it is).  More specifically, this blog will provide a chronology of Luke's first years via brief updates laden with links to photos and videos.  This is our first blog, so suggestions are welcome.

Emily and I went to Luke's 38-week appointment today.  Luke and Emily appear to be in sync and on track.  Dr. Truong predicts that Luke will arrive by his due date (July 23rd) or maybe even a little sooner.  Our bags are packed, the nursery is setup and the car seat is installed.  I'll bring the laptop to the hospital, so check back often.
